General Welfare Intiatives

SPVLG Artisans Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the socio-economic upliftment of marginalized communities in Jammu and Kashmir, undertakes a variety of general welfare initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. These initiatives focus on promoting inclusivity, improving quality of life, and ensuring that development reaches those who need it most. One such impactful initiative was the distribution of 100 wheelchairs and 100 tri-cycles to individuals with mobility challenges. This effort was made possible through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support of J&K Bank and was implemented in collaboration with Saksham Trust. The distribution drives were organized at multiple locations and witnessed active participation from community stakeholders and local authorities. The primary objective of this initiative was to enhance mobility and independence for persons with disabilities, thereby enabling them to participate more fully in social, economic, and community life. By providing assistive devices such as wheelchairs and tri-cycles, the initiative contributed to restoring dignity, boosting confidence, and promoting self-reliance among the beneficiaries. In addition to mobility support, the Foundation's welfare activities include: Distribution of relief kits and essential supplies during emergencies and natural calamities. Organizing health camps and awareness drives on critical issues such as drug de-addiction, HIV/AIDS prevention, and hygiene. Providing assistive devices, hearing aids, and spectacles to the differently-abled and elderly. Supporting education and livelihood for underprivileged children and youth through scholarships, school kits, and vocational training. Through such initiatives, SPVLG Artisans Foundation reaffirms its commitment to creating a more inclusive and compassionate society, ensuring that no one is left behind.
