Healthcare Projects
1. Project NAJAATH – Combating Drug Addiction
2. Project MAMTA (Maternal & Child Health Project – Supporting Tribal Women
Funded by J &K Bank, Project NAJAATH is a comprehensive initiative aimed at
the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals affected by drug
addiction. The project was piloted in Pulwama and Jammu districts during
2022-24. Recognizing the alarming rise in substance abuse in J&K, this project
focuses on:
Awareness Campaigns: Educating youth, families, and communities about the
dangers of drug abuse through different IEC models like workshops, seminars,
radio/TV talks, community events and digital outreach.
Counseling & Rehabilitation: Providing professional counseling services,
therapy sessions, and facilitating rehabilitation support to those battling severe
addiction issues
Community Support Networks: Engaging local leaders, educators, and health
professionals to create a support system for affected individuals and their
families.
MAMTA is an acronym for Maternal Assistance through Monitoring and
Treatment Assurance. The Project focuses on improving healthcare access and
outcomes for tribal women, currently the project is under implementation in
Anantnag and Rajouri districts. This initiative aims to reduce maternal and
infant mortality rates while enhancing healthcare awareness in underserved
communities. Key components of the project include:
Antenatal & Postnatal Care: Ensuring regular health check-ups, nutritional
support, and maternal education for pregnant women within their locality
Safe Childbirth Services: Facilitating institutional deliveries but at the same
time providing access to Trained Birth Attendants (TBAs) in case institutional
delivery is not possible or preferred
Immunization & Child Nutrition: Conducting immunization drives and
educating mothers on proper nutrition and childcare practices.
Health Camps & Mobile Clinics: Reaching remote tribal populations through
mobile healthcare units offering medical consultations and treatments.
Capacity Building for Healthcare Workers: Training local midwives TBAs and
health workers to strengthen the grassroots healthcare network..
SPVLG Foundation continues to expand its healthcare initiatives with a vision
to ensure inclusive, accessible, and quality healthcare for all. We work closely
with stakeholders, government bodies, and community leaders to build a
robust healthcare system that meets the needs of the most vulnerable
populations.
